PROMO - Aeroclub Twente

Founded in 1964, and based out of the former airforce base of Twente Airport, VCT is one of the largest and oldest aeroclubs in The Netherlands. It’s livery and callsigns well known at airports around the country.

Starting 2021, an effort began to lift the club’s online presence into the 21st century, starting with a new website.
For this occasion, we decided to make a short promotional film.

SHOWREEL - TRIMM 2021

A showreel of some of the work I was part of during my year at TRIMM.

Featuring footage from one of our Nexperia, Thetford, Philips Hue, FBK Games, XSense Runner Assist, and Orthica Medical, where I not only to design camera and lighting plans, but also worked to implement and oversee them.
It also features several live events, such as SPAR and and ICOM, which I helped facilitate behind the scenes.

All drone shots, as well as the edit of the showreel itself were also done by me.

PERSONAL PROJECT - The Hague 6K

This video is a personal project.
Right after switching over from Sony to Black Magic, I took the new 6K camera with me on a day trip to The Hague.
Shooting handheld, with a bare camera made for a very versatile and nimble setup, but also presented it’s own unique challenges.

This video is the result of the footage shot that day, in amazingly crisp 6K resolution.

PROMO - XSense Runner Assist

A promo video about XSenses Runner Assist technology.

I headed this project up during my year at Trimm, where I was responsible for nearly every step of the way from initial concepting, to pre-produciton, shooting, and post.

Fun fact: While I don’t usually write texts, I also wrote the text for the final voice over.

RECRUITMENT - Zeton

Another project while working for TRIMM.

As part of a recruitment campaign, we worked to produce a series of recruitment videos for the Zeton, a pilot plant designer and manufacturing company.

For this project, I did camera and aerial work, as well as lighting and editing.

WEDDING - FLOOR AND ALGONDE

Every wedding is a magical moment of connection and love between 2 people.

This is one of the over 10 wedding films I shot in 2021. With these documentaries I aim to capture the special moments on a couple’s wedding day, after which I assemble these into a 5 to 10 minute long documentary form video. One of the great joys of my work is seeing newly-wed watching their wedding video for the first time, and having all the emotions of that day come back to them.

PROMO - Autogroep Twente

Harkening back to their first Christmas promo 25 years ago, I updated this classic video to a modern standard in a video wishing their clients a merry christmas, and announcing their 25 year celebration.

PROMO - FESTIPI

This video was originally made out of boredom caused by the second COVID lockdown, when my sister decided to throw a party in the backyard. After seeing the video, the company that manufactures the t̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ Tipis then contacted me asking if they could use the video for their own promotion.
We struck up a deal, and a full ad series for next year’s summer season is now in the works.

PERSONAL PROJECT - PORTRAIT OF TOKYO

This video is a personal project.
I took my camera with me to explore Tokyo and the surrounding Kanto region during the summer and autumn of 2022.

The footage captured in this video showcases the stunning beauty and vibrant culture of the region. From bustling streets, to quiet moments every day life around town, this video offers a glimpse of the best that Tokyo has to offer.

Every scene was shot by handheld, allowing for a versatile and nimble setup. The result is a beautifully crisp and dynamic video that captures the essence of Tokyo and the surrounding region.
I hope that by watching this video, you'll get a sense of what makes this place so special, and why it holds such a special place in my heart.

WEDDING - SANGEETA AND MARNIX

Weddings are an exciting affair. Sometimes even a stressful one.
For me, this wedding was definitely both.
This day long shoot was my first full shoot with both a new camera, as well as a new filming style. Shooting handheld, with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K was definitely something new for me, but it turned out better then I could’ve expected.

Oh, and some people got married too! It’s always very rewarding to see the response of a newly-wed couple upon seeing the video and photos that were made for them on their special day. This is a little excerpt from the love shoot part of the wedding.

PROMO - KIA ZWOLLE

The way we communicate is evolving, and sometimes that means taking our usual perspecting, and flipping it on it’s side.

For this project I was tasked with producing and shooting several short promotional teaser videos for a Kia automotive dealer in the city of Zwolle for use on IGTV. Filming for IGTV (which uses a vertical aspect ratio) posed several interesting technical challanges, which I and a small team worked to overcome.

AERIAL - MONSCHAU A BIRDS EYE VIEW

What better way to show the big picture then from the sky.

This video was shot as a promotional video for use in online and offline tourism marketing. This video was produced from a script provided to me, and was shot by drone to capture not only the beauty of the city, but also the stunning nature which surrounds it.

SHOOT & FILM - FOR THE LOVE OF FAMILY

Shoot & Film is a collaborative project with Jola Mulder Fotografie, where a couple or family books both a photoshoot and a video shoot which happen at the same time.

The photos and video are an amazing memory for couples and families alike, and we’ve had an amazing response to the project so far!

EDITING - BROEKMAN LOGISTICS

Every projects needs an editor to bring it all together.

This is a project for which I provided freelance editing services.
After being contacted by the production company, I set to work assembling their footage shot in China and the Netherlands, in order to create a video that would properly reflect the image of the company and it’s operations.

COMMERCIAL - MY VICTORY

A commercial tailor made for the client. Together with the client.

I was contracted by the sportsclub My Victory Enschede to produce and shoot a short commercial. Here I worked with the client to write a tailor made script which would show off the various assets and facilities availible at the club. We then shot this project over several days, after which i worked closely with the client during post-production.

INSTRUCTIONAL - FIETSCITY

Doing home repairs and maintenance isn’t always easy, sometimes you just need someone to show you how it’s done.

This is why I worked with FietsCity to write, shoot and produce several instructional videos related to bike maintenance.

SHORT FILM - VERGAAN

Everyone has a story to tell, and I can help you tell it.

I was brought onto the team for this project at a late stage in it’s production to help clean up a complicated production and help get the project finished.
Here I worked with the team to coordinate and devide tasks, aswell as fully post-producing the final product.

ORIGINAL PROJECT - FOREST WALK PHOTOSHOOT

I love video. Not just for as my job, but as an essential part of my life.

That’s why, even when i’m not working on projects from clients, I continue to produce my own original projects. For this video I tagged along with a photographer to capture the wonderful moments a family experiences during a photoshoot.

ORIGINAL PROJECT - Apple Picking

Every once in a while I like to experiment with different styles and genres of video. In this case I decided to shoot a short handheld sequence, which I brought together in the edit with custom foley work.

EVENT - FREE A GIRL

Every good event needs a good video.

I filmed the 2019 Lock Me Up event for Free A Girl in Hengelo, where several well known people were locked up for a period of time to raise money for charity. Over the period of a week I shot and produced several videos of the event, and delivered these within the next 24 hours of shooting so they could be uploaded to social media for promotional purposes.

YOUTUBE - Story.Of.Ian Mamiya Vlog

I filmed a vlog type video for my friend Niels [Ian].
He’s starting a new YouTube channel alongside his existing Instagram, featuring video content about his experience with analog film cameras. In particular, his new Mamiya RB67.
I went along with Niels to shoot one of his first rolls, and to document his experience and thought process.
